Personal data

In the course of using our service, we limit our collection of personally identifiable information to what is absolutely necessary for functional and user experience purposes. We may ask you to provide the following types of information:

  • Account Information: We collect information that you provide during account registration, login, and other interactions with our service. This includes your email address and username, which are necessary to establish and manage your account, and ensure access to our services.   • Transactional Information: For financial transactions, such as purchasing a subscription, we use Stripe, a third-party payment processing service. While Stripe handles the transaction details, including credit card numbers, billing addresses, and full names, NoteKnight does not store these payment details. We only have access to limited transactional information needed for billing and subscription management purposes.

  • Guests Information: NoteKnight does not collect any data from guests. We strive to ensure that even guests can explore and utilize a range of services, but full access and personalization of the NoteKnight experience are available only with the provision of certain account information.


Analytics

NoteKnight uses Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how visitors interact with our service and to help improve user experience and functionality. GA4 uses first-party cookies to generate anonymous usage statistics such as page views, navigation patterns, general location (city-level), device type, and other technical information. GA4 does not store IP addresses and does not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information.

Third-Party Services

NoteKnight allows you to create an account and log in using Google. When you choose this option, Google provides us only with the information required to create and maintain your account, which includes:

  • Email Address
  • Profile Picture

No additional Google account data is accessed or stored.


Tracking

NoteKnight uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our service and store certain information. The technologiese may include:

  • Cookies: We use session cookies which are essential to provide you with services available through NoteKnight and to enable you to use some of its features. They help to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts.
  • Analytics Cookies: GA4 first-party cookies used to measure site usage. These cookies store a randomly generated client identifier and do not include names, emails, or other personal data.

Data Usage

NoteKnight may use personal data for the following purposes:

  • Provide and maintain our service, including to monitor the usage of our service.

  • Manage your account registration as a user of the service. The personal data you provide can give you access to different functionalities of the service that are available to you as a registered user.

  • To contact you by email or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, regarding updates or informative related to the functionalities, products or contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.

  • To provide you with service updates, and, where permitted, optional news or special offers related to NoteKnight. We do not send marketing communications without explicit user consent.

  • To manage your requests and attend to your requests to us.

  • For other purposes such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our service, products, services, marketing and your experience.

  • With other users in the public areas including your username, profile picture and public flashcard content.

Third-Party Advertising

NoteKnight displays third-party advertisements through Mediavine’s Journey ad platform. These ads are contextual and do not use behavioral targeting, cross-site tracking, retargeting, or persistent advertising identifiers. NoteKnight does not use personalized advertising and does not share or sell user data for advertising purposes.

Mediavine may process limited technical information such as browser type, device type, and non-precise location in order to deliver and optimize ads. This processing is managed directly by Mediavine under their own privacy policy and data-handling obligations.

Law enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Noteknight may be required to disclose your personal data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Children’s Privacy

NoteKnight is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can remove that information promptly.
