Simplicity is the key to brilliance.
Introduction
NoteKnight’s dashboard has received a long-awaited revamp! Since launch, we’ve focused on enhancing creation and study tools, but as our community grew, so did the need for better organization and management. Drawing inspiration from web browsers and Windows file explorers, we’ve designed an experience that feels familiar while maintaining the clean, intuitive design you expect from NoteKnight.

Navigation
The biggest structural change is our tab system, allowing you to quickly switch between Home, Favorites, Folders, and Imports without page reloads. Implementing real-time synchronization with the database while keeping the experience smooth was a technical challenge—but we made it happen. Now, moving between sections feels instantaneous, keeping your workflow uninterrupted.

Search, Sort & Scroll
We revamped the dashboard’s search and sorting to be lightning-fast by shifting everything to client-side JavaScript. Previously, sorting and searching required fetching updated info from the server, slowing things down. Now, everything happens instantly, right in your browser.
Combined this with a now scrollable table, browsing your flashcards is snappy and smooth.

Batch Operations
Managing multiple flashcard sets is much more convenient now with our new selection system:
- Delete – Select multiple sets and remove them all at once.
- Combine – Merge multiple flashcard sets into a new set.
- Share – Generate a shareable list of multiple sets with one click.
Before finalizing a combine or share action, you can drag and drop items to reorder them—a feature unique to NoteKnight. Other platforms require tedious, one-by-one selection, but there’s something satisfying about quickly dragging elements into place and finalizing your choices with a single click.

Favorites
To keep your most-used flashcards within reach, we added a Favorites tab. Simply click the heart icon to favorite a set, and it will be instantly accessible in its own section.
Because we love the details we sprinkled in a fun heartbeat animation when clicking the favorites button. It makes interacting with your flashcards a touch more satisfying.

Folders
Our accordion-style dropdown folders let you expand multiple folders at once, making it effortless to browse and manage sets. Unlike other platforms where folders feel confusing, NoteKnight allows you to quickly add and remove sets, rename folders, and delete them—all in a scrollable section.

Imports
Importing flashcards is now more intuitive than ever. We consolidated the import button into its own tab, keeping the dashboard clean and focused while making it easier to bring in flashcards from other platforms.

Responsive Design
Whether you’re using a desktop, tablet, or mobile device, the new dashboard adapts flawlessly. Our horizontally and vertically scrollable table ensures that all features remain accessible on any screen size.
Wrapping It Up
This update takes the NoteKnight experience to the next level and we are so excited for our users to get their hands on this upgrade!.
We’ve heard your requests for an export tool, and we’ll be getting to work on that soon. After that, we’re exploring the idea of quiz creation tools. As always, we want to build what you need most, so let us know what features you’d love to see next!
